This is a photo series that I presented as my final for Darkroom II class at Brookdale. I had spent the entire semester photographing myself and exploring my body and my relationship to it through my transition. This final idea came from Samuel Avery, and his photo series titled “F*ck Your Transphobia”. I wanted to do separate shoots for this project, one revolving around things that I have been told regarding my identity and my transition, and another with things that loved ones and friends have said to me, or think about me, to showcase the difference between the voices of those that matter to me versus those of strangers.
